In 1948, Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Wells of Norfolk had Cox
Construction Company build the barn at a cost of $48,000.
It was used to house show horses at that time.
The barn was considered one of the most modern of its type in the Midwest
at the time. It was located across
from TaHaZouka Park on Hwy 81, south of Norfolk until 1995 when it was purchased
by the Jim Klein family and moved to their farm 6½ miles west of Norfolk on
Hwy. 275. Even though the barn sat
empty for many years very little renovation had to be done to get it fully
functional again. Today it is still
used as a boarding facility and training and lessons are given by their
daughter, Somer, also.
